Sharing Good Practice – Positive Behaviour Management.

Stage 1:

October 2007 – February 2008.

Rationale.

“Helping schools to learn from their best practice is conceptually simple. It is practically easy –

there is a much better chance of learning from someone in the same building, than from

someone 100 miles away.”

· The three Specialist staff – NJD, KS, PW – will be involved in sharing good

practice on positive behaviour management with three members of staff.

· The programme was instigated at the request of SMT/Leadership Team.

· The programme is voluntary and is NOT part of the Performance

Management process.

· Stage 1 forms part of a rolling programme of sharing good practice by

specialist staff over the academic year.

· The Focus of subsequent stages may be on other teaching and learning

areas.

· The Focus of subsequent stages may be with other staff.

· The three specialist staff will be involved in sharing good practice for up to

2 x 50 minute lesson each week.

· Sharing good practice can take various forms:

Observations and feedback by specialist staff.

Focused observations of specialist staff.

Strategy discussions.

Printed recommendations/strategies provided by specialist staff.

· Final recommendations and strategies for use will be provided by the

specialist staff for the relevant teachers with a copy also for their Head of

Faculty.
